Centenary Heights SHS Partnership Schools Music Program
We are extending an invitation to Year 5 and 6 Instrumental and Choral music students from our Partnership Schools to attend a Music Immersion Day at our school campus on Friday 1st April (last day of Term 1). The students will have the opportunity to participate in a day of workshops with our Concert Band, String Orchestra and Li'l Ensom (Specialist Vocal Ensemble). They will be mentored by our older students and specialist Instrumental and Choral staff. The students will also be provided a Classroom Music experience with some of our Senior Classroom Music staff as well as a Mass Choir workshop. The day will culminate in a Community Concert where families of our primary and secondary music students are invited to enjoy performances by each of these combined ensembles as well as some featured performances by the Centenary Heights SHS Specialist Ensembles.
This program will provide primary school students the opportunity to:
- experience a day in the Centenary Heights SHS music community and become familiar with school routines and learning spaces
- connect with older students and specialist staff who can mentor, inspire and encourage them to continue to extend and develop their musical skills on their chosen instruments/voice
- develop their confidence through involvement in the culminating performance at the evening Concert.
We are seeking nominations for students in Years 5 & 6 performing at an approximate Instrumental Music Level 2 and above (or equivalent) or choral / vocal experience. Placements are available as follows:
