School hours

  • Students are required at school by 8.30 am.

  • Class hours are 8.45 am to 2.55 pm.

Students who arrive at the school on the completion of morning pastoral care i.e. after 8.55 am are required to report at the school office first to receive a late pass.

Students are not permitted to leave the school grounds for any reason during school hours without first providing a written note from a parent/carer and obtaining permission from the administration staff.

Students who have been absent are required to bring a note to their pastoral care group teacher on the day of their return explaining their absence.

A telephone call would be appreciated concerning pending absences and on-going absences.

Absences

24/7 SMS ONLY number

0429318981

or telephone: (07) 4636 7599

Please leave a recorded message stating your:

  • child’s name

  • parent/carer name

  • date of absence

  • reason for absence.

Please assist by either texting,  phoning, using the QParent app, or sending a note explaining an absence. Following this procedure saves our office staff so much time and avoids an unauthorised absence being recorded against your child’s name.

It is requested, where possible, that medical and dental appointments are made out of school hours.

Office hours

The school office is open daily between the hours of 8.15 am and 3.45 pm.

School office staff are able to assist parents/carers, students and other visitors with any enquiries.

Telephone: (07) 4636 7500

Education Queensland policy states all visitors are required to sign in at the main office prior to entering the school. It is expected that all visitors to the school communicate with school office staff prior to making contact with staff and/or students.

Communication

Parents will be kept informed of school events via our updated website and a regular newsletter. This information is emailed to families. Parents are encouraged to update their email addresses to ensure they receive the latest information.

Structured parent/teacher/student interviews are held twice a year – at the beginning of Terms 2 and 3.

Student reports are available through QParents.

Should you wish to make an appointment to discuss any matter with school personnel, school office staff will help you to arrange a suitable time.  A message for staff may be left at our school office. Staff will return your contact within 24-48 hours provided they are in school e.g. not on an excursion etc.

QParents

The QParents web and mobile application provides and easier way for you to interact with our school. Parents will have secure online access to their child's student information, anytime, anywhere, through a smartphone, tablet or computer.

QParents allows parents to connect instantly with our school to access and manage their child's student information, including:

  • attendance and absence details, as well as the ability to notify the school of an absence
  • class timetables
  • downloading exam timetables and assessment planners
  • students' reports
  • viewing unpaid invoice details, payment history, and making payments online
  • viewing and updating personal student details, including medical conditions and address
  • enrolment details

QParents will assist both staff and parents in sharing and responding to information in an efficient and effective way.

It won't replace the traditional ways you communicate with our school but it will provide another way to communicate with us.
