Hi, my name is Chris Bartlett.
Welcome to 2019 as I continue in my role as Sports Coordinator at Centenary Heights State High School.
Working with a great staff and dedicated students to promote the benefits gained from participation in sport is a wonderful aspect of this role. Students at Centenary Heights State High School are offered a range of sporting opportunities throughout the school year. Whether students are involved in Tuesday afternoon social sport, trialling for a Central Zone, Toowoomba District or Darling Downs sporting team or representing the school in various interschool sports, they are benefitting from learning how to work with others, commitment and development healthy lifestyle habits to take with them into the future.
A bonus of being sports coordinator is also working with an amazing group of young adult student leaders. Their enthusiastic involvement and exceptional ideas will provide 2019 with a vast range of sporting experiences for many at Centenary Heights.
We have provided on the website the school sport calendar which lists all Central Zone, Toowoomba Zone, TSSS, Darling Downs trials and State Championship dates. These dates rarely change throughout the year so can be relied upon to be current. Any changes will be relayed to students clearly on our student notices.
For each trial offered to students, there will be a nomination form added to the website for downloading from home if necessary. Forms are also available at school from F Block noticeboard. You will also find copies of medical consent forms which must be completed prior to trials. No form means the students cannot trial. Any costs for trials will be stated on nomination forms and are payable to the school Textbook Office prior to trials. No late nominations for trials are able to be accepted.
If you have any questions of concerns regarding sport, please don't hesitate to contact me.
