The School Based Youth Health Nurse (SBYHN) program is a program aimed at assisting individuals and the whole of school community to improve their health and wellbeing and deal with any barriers that may present. The SBYHN program provides both individual and small group consultations. These consultations are confidential. There are some limitations to this confidentiality and these and any other questions can be discussed further with your SBYHN.

The SBYHN also provides relevant health promotion and education to the school community with the aim to address the contemporary and relevant health needs of young people.

There are many areas that the SBYHN program can assist you with. Some of these are mental health and wellbeing, general health and wellbeing including nutrition and physical activity, healthy relationships, sexual health, family and personal relationships, growth and development, smoking, alcohol and other drugs.

The SBYHN is available Monday, Tuesday and Friday and may be contacted via the school office or the SBYHN office in J Block.

If you have any concerns or questions please don’t hesitate to contact Kate our SBYHN.
