On Friday 12 August, school students from across all parts of Queensland, representing over 50 schools, converged at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre to take part in a Guinness World Records™ official attempt for the Largest Practical Science Lesson.
The final count of 2900 students and teachers participating in the lesson beat the previous record of 2102, held by the South Africans. The official record is now listed on the Guinness World Records website.
This achievement would not have been possible without the involvement of students and their teachers from Centenary Heights State High School. The organising team sent grateful thanks and warm appreciation for Centenary Heights's contribution towards this successful event and are heartened that many of these students will now be further inspired to become involved in science.
