A very moving Anzac Service was held at Centenary Heights State High School on Friday 24 April.

Despite the problems associated with social distancing, Performing Arts HOD Amy McAleer coordinated students and teachers to contribute with readings and trumpeters Dylan and Verity playing "The Last Post" and "Rouse". Music teacher Heidi Law put together a touching tribute to the Anzacs, with our choir, L'il Ensom, beautifully performing "Abide With Me".

Local Member for Toowoomba South David Janetzki also stated his preference for hard Anzac biscuits, whilst encouraging everyone to take part in the "Light the Dawn", an RSL initiative as an alternative to the traditional large gatherings for Anzac services.

Leading Seaman Ellen Zyla was our guest speaker, and she spoke with great

emotion about her experiences in conflict zones around the world, and of the respect that is felt for our Anzacs world-wide.

video of the service was made available for all our families who are self-isolating at home, and to small groups of students who were attending school.

Lest we forget.
